PEDERSEN, Irene Isobelle Born on May 28, 1922 in Penticton, Irene passed peacefully on June 9 at Kelowna General Hospital. She was in the care of family and the incredibly dedicated, compassionate and professional staff at Kelowna General Hospital. Irene is survived by her sister Mable Gawne of Penticton; her two sons, Brian of Kelowna and Larry (wife Debbie) of Victoria BC; and her grandchildren Carmen (Craig) Andow of Quesnel, Mindy (Grant) Schulte of Kamloops, Amanda of Kelowna, Grant of Surrey, Eric of Victoria and Craig of Montreal. Irene will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity and her willingness to help others. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to many. She was deeply saddened by the loss of her devoted husband Paul in 1994 and the family is comforted by the thought that they are together once again and in the presence of their son Bob and other family members. Irene's life will be fondly celebrated at a family reunion in August in Naramata and she will be interred in the Naramata Cemetery along side the love of her life, her husband Paul, at that time. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for any donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her name. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mem.com and searching her name under stories. Arrangements entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna, BC ph: 250-762-2299.
