LANGE, Elsie (Pahl) Born July 28, 1932 in Kelowna, BC, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Born in Kalachovka, Besserabia (Romania) as a young child she moved with her family to many places, including Austria, Poland and Germany due to the war, before moving to Canada in 1949. There her family settled on a farm in Hanna, Alberta. She caught the eye of her future husband in Calgary. She married in 1957 and lived in Vancouver, Edmonton and eventually Kelowna. In Kelowna she worked at the Capri Hotel as a cook, while continuing to help raise three sons. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her selflessness, kindness and her cooking. Her husband, Helmuth Lange; her sons, Ray, Simon and Alden; her daughter-in-law, Sharon; and her grandchildren, Raelene and Thomas, survive her. Her celebration of life will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Evangel Church on 3261 Gordon Dr. Flowers can be sent to Evangel Church.
