MacDonnell, Douglas Oct. 15, 1927 - June 16, 2014 It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Papa, Dad and Husband, Douglas Joseph MacDonnell. Doug is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon, his four daughters Debbie (Randy), Dianne, Donna, and Dana (Bob) as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Doug was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia into a large gaelic speaking family of seven children and parents, Elsie and Donald. Doug loved to share stories of his childhood years growing up in Nova Scotia. These tales took on legendary status - particularly those of that scoundrel, Cyril. Doug wore many hats in the professional arena - at the age of 18 he joined the Canadian Air Force and flew Spitfire aircraft; he owned and operated Admiral Glass in Penticton; then embarked on a long career as owner of several Century 21 Real Estate offices throughout BC as well as Bayline Realty in Lantzville. But let's not forget the cowboy hat he wore! You were the horse-whisperer Papa. Your legacy will live in our hearts always. - Tempus Fugit -.
