BUTLER, James Charles November 30, 1932 - June 22, 2014 James Charles Butler passed away Sunday, June, 22, 2014 in Kelowna, BC with family present. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; his three children, James Charles (Cheryl), Kristin (Sherman) and Andrea (Sean); his four cherished grand-daughters, Devin, Haley, Kahlil and Ava; and his sisters, Nancy Arnold and Susan Butler (Douglas). Jim is predeceased by his parents, H.R. Butler and Berniece (Roberts) Butler, and his brother Thomas (Angelica) Butler. Born in Vancouver, BC, Jim attended Vancouver College and St. George's Schools and spent summers at the YMCA -Camp Elphinstone. He attended the University of Washington and UBC prior to commencing his banking and brokerage career with the Royal Bank and TD Waterhouse. Upon Jim's retirement, he and Genny moved to Kelowna in 1989. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed many years as a member of the Shaunessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver. Over the years, he and Genny spent many happy winters at their La Quinta, California home entertaining friends and family. His most recent past time was playing cards (Five Crown) with friends and often winning. He will be fondly remembered and missed by family and friends. Thank you to Dr. J. McIntosh, Dr. McCauley and all of the medical and nursing staff at KGH for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Rd, Kelowna.
