MCDOUGALL, Donald 1919 - 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Don on July 18, 2014. Predeceased by his son Duncan in 1997, Don is survived by his loving wife, Grace, of 71 years; son Gerry (Jacquie); grandchildren: Adam, Chris (Chantel), Melanie Laverick (Paul), David (Felicia), Mark (Candace), Alan; great grandchildren Duncan, Dekker, Hunter, Maxwell and Grace. He is also survived by his niece Joan Sommerstad (Wayne) and daughter-in-law Sandra Armstrong (Malcolm). Don was born and grew up in Regina and served for 6 years as a sergeant in the Canadian Air Force during World War II. He spent his career working for Imperial Oil in Regina, Edmonton and Toronto before settling in West Kelowna upon his retirement in 1979. Don truly enjoyed his retirement with his children and grandchildren and was a long time elder at St. David's Presbyterian Church where he also did the accounting and books until the age of 90. He was also a lifelong member of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police Lodge #11 in Regina. Even though he was there such a short time, the family would like to express its heartfelt thanks to the kind, caring and compassionate staff at Pine Acres Care Home. At the expressed wishes of Don, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, at your choosing you may wish to donate to either the Canadian Cancer Society or St. David's Presbyterian Church, 271 Snowsell Rd., Kelowna.
