KUZEMCHUK, William (Bill) Apr 9, 1935 - Jul 28, 2014 William "Bill" Kuzemchuk passed away at the Meno Ya Win Health Centre on July 28th, 2014 at the age of 79 years. Bill was born in Ghost River on April 9th, 1935. He moved to Sioux Lookout in 1938 where he grew up with his three brothers and one sister. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated High School in 1954. On September 27th, 1958 he married Jacqueline (nee Jacob) after a short courtship. They had 3 children, David, Diane and Carol. He was employed by the CNR for 5 years prior to joining "The Lands and Forrest" later to be known as the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). He worked there until his retirement in 1989. After 16 yrs of living between B.C. and Sioux Lookout he moved to Penticton, B.C. full time only to return to his hometown for summer visits. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his latter years developed a passion for golf which he enjoyed until his passing. Bill is survived by his wife Jackie, son David (Cathy), Diane (Dan), and Carol (Gina). Papa will be missed by his grandchildren Jamie (Rocel), Brandy (Ian), Anton and Danya; great-grandchildren Diya, Logan and Ariya. Bill was predeceased by his parents Michal and Anastasia (nee Oleska), his brothers Mike and Mervyn Kuzemchuk, brother Borden Kent and one sister Mary Gustafson. The memorial funeral service was held on Friday, August 1st at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church @ 11:00a.m. with Father Mike Mahoney officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
