ZABLOTNEY, BRIGITTE TOSCA Went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2014 at the age of 94 years. She is remembered and sadly missed by her only son, Lance, daughter-in-law, Barbara, three granddaughters, Krystyna (Kevin), Karolina (Trent), Renata and great granddaughters, Julie and Ila. She was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Marlene, and her husband, George. Oma was known and loved for her hospitality and generosity. To visit Oma, was to experience great food, non-stop conversation and fun. A great lover of people, Oma was always generous with her love and her time. Her family will miss her laugh, sharp wit, and legacy of cuisine including her turkey and dressing, plum cake, and perfect cream puffs. Oma experienced the joys of childhood in the quiet town of Varel, Germany. Later, she fled the savagery of World War II to arrive on the peaceful shores of Canada. She embraced her new land and always loved and valued it. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Special thanks to the staff at the Trinity Care Centre who she so dearly appreciated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 16th at Penticton's Lakeview Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at Bethel church at 945 Main Street with Pastor Don Schneider officiating.
