Margaret (Peggy) Mary Sabina McCarthy Cruickshank (May 28, 1924 - September 22, 2014) Peggy was born on May 28, 1924 in Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, Ireland. The 9th of 11 children, she was raised in a loving home. It was while working for the Bank of England where she met her husband Herbert (Cruicky). They immigrated to Canada in 1954, living in Winnipeg, Calgary and finally settling in North Vancouver where they raised their two sons, Tony and John. Her amazing sense of humor, love of reading, classical music and beautiful knitting are just some of the treasures she bestowed on so many. Peggy's kind way with animals, deep love of the sea (Ballybunion) and giving nature were only surpassed by the unconditional love and support she bestowed upon her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Cruicky. Peggy is lovingly remembered by her family; Tony, John, Phil, Lyndi, Garrett, Madi, Edith, Elaine, Patrick and Philomena and the many friends whose lives she touched. Upon the passing of our mom, we wish to give thanks to the caregivers at Village by the Station in Penticton for their years of compassionate care and especially those who cared for mom in the cottages. At mom's request, there will be no service. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or The Good Samaritan Society Village by the Station, raising funds for new bathtubs for the cottages. We miss our mom. If you get to Ireland, be sure to kiss the Blarney stone in her memory. For Peggy, her favorite Gaelic toast: Go mbeire muid ar an am sep aris. "May we all be together at the same time next year"
