WENTLAND, Elsie: Elsie Wentland passed away peacefully at her home at Cadder Court in Cottonwoods Extended Care Facility on October 3, 2014. Elsie was born in Soldau, Poland May 19, 1921 and immigrated to Canada with her family where they homesteaded in the Herbert Saskatchewan area. Elsie is survived by: her daughter Val (Allen deceased) Harden; son Arnold (Lorraine) Wentland; and daughter Judy (Robert) Strawson. Ten Grandchildren: Terri (Rosaire) Perrault, Kelly (Leslee) Harden; Carmen (Andreas) Neugebauer, Renee (Jamie Gripich) Wentland, Jeremy Wentland, Jocelyn Wentland; Christopher (Candice) Strawson, Michael (Katie) Strawson, Jennifer (Chris) Kennedy, Amy (Chris) Masich. Sixteen Great-Grandchildren: Shawn, Jenna; Evan, Lindsay; Julian, Megan, Kendall, Cohen; Elliot, Hudson, Cecilia, Claudia, Wyatt; Jackson, Dylan; Palmer. Ten Great-Great-Grandchildren: Grady, Blythe; Jaycee, Layna, Hailey; William, Etta; Angelise, Reid, Summer. Elsie was predeceased by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bernard, in 1997. She loved to play bridge and every Sunday she played canasta with a friend. Elsie was an avid reader and was current in all the events that were happening around her. Elsie was a person with a huge heart; she always showed an outstanding concern for her friends. She was always positive throughout her life and was incredibly proud of her family. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M., October 24, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Rd., West Kelowna, BC. Interment to be in Herbert, SK following a Memorial Service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2:00 P.M., November 1, 2014, 528 Thompson St., Herbert, SK.
