McDIARMID, Lorna Kathleen: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorna Kathleen McDiarmid on November 1, 2014 at the Penticton Regional Hospital. Born on January 5, 1923, she was the youngest daughter of the late Dr. Colin and Agnes (nee Smith) McDiarmid. Lorna was a graduate of the University of British Columbia and had a passion for travel. In her younger years, Lorna worked and traveled in Europe and also made many trips to Hawaii. She was a social worker in the Penticton area. Lorna was predeceased by sister Maureen McDiarmid and special cousin Elvira Brown. Lorna is survived by sister Betty Hamilton, nephew Nick (Doreen) Hamilton, and great-nieces Jennifer Hamilton and Victoria (Scottie) Colpitts. Cremation has taken place. No service as per Lorna's wishes. Donations in Lorna's memory may be made to the Penticton Regional Hospital. Lorna's friends are invited to join her family on Friday, November 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2125 Atkinson St., Recreation Room to share their memories of Lorna.
