KEEHN, Albert "Ab" Samuel: Mr. Albert (Ab) Samuel Keehn, aged 92 years, a resident of Kelowna, BC, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Ab, who was born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) on November 23, 1922, was the son of Herman and Maybell Keehn. He was one of 5 siblings: Isabelle, Christina, Constance and Elsie. Before he moved to Kelowna in his later years Ab lived in Thunder Bay and Terrace Bay. At the beginning of World War II Ab immediately enlisted into the armed forces at the age of 17 and immediately experienced active duty in Italy where he was a member in an artillery unit. It was during this time where he experienced a severe hearing loss. Regardless of his war injury, Ab continued to be an active soldier for the duration of the war. Ab was one of those rare individuals who never had a disparagingly comment of anyone and conversely no one spoke badly of Ab. He was a genuine and gently individual who quietly lived an honest and purposeful life. Ab is survived by his wife Irene, nephews and nieces. To honour this fine man and a war hero, any donation to the War Amps of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
