FORTIN, Robert "Bob" Lyle: August 23, 1931 - November 15, 2014. With great sadness we announce the passing of Bob Fortin after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He will be forever missed by his wife, Bette, of 59 years; his four sons and daughters-in-law: Don (Monique), Richard (Carolyn), David (Mitzi), Frank (Stacy); his grandchildren: Robert, Elyse, Joshua, Rebecca, Tahni, Cali, and Cody; his brother Frank; sister-in-law, Lorraine, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Vancouver and lived most of his childhood in Haney and Vancouver. Married in 1955, he and Bette moved to Quesnel for a year then moved to Prince George where they lived for 14 years. Bob was shop foreman for Finning Tractor until 1963 when he started his first company, Industrial Chrome. In 1970 he sold his business and moved his family to Vernon where he continued to be a successful businessman until his retirement in 1983. After which he enjoyed many travels, working around his home but most importantly, spending quality time with his family. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Reception to follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room. Those friends wishing to pay their respects may do so during a visitation before the service from the hours 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, Phone: 250 542 4333.
