ODSEN, Florence: May 28, 1925 - November 23, 2014. Florence Odsen passed from this world on November 23, 2014 at Kelowna General Hospital. Florence was predeceased by her husband Vern and her sister Doris Bishop. Her children, Lesley Odsen, Grant Cindy) Odsen, and Bradley (Cindy Walker-Watson) Odsen, along with her niece Kathryn (Tyrone Josdal) Knox were with her in her final hours. Florence also leaves to mourn, her grandchildren, Garth, Sonya, Raymond, Dallas, Chante, Cheriese and Tyson, her great-granddaughter Adrienne and great-grandson Beckett, her sister Marian (George) Knox, Tracy (Gavin Langerak) Berger, Rick Knox, her sister-in-law Aline along with numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, in her early years Florence lived in Crane Valley and Assinboia, Saskatchewan. It was in Assiniboia that she met and married Vern, the love of her life. They lived in Assiniboia until 1958 when the family moved to Regina when Vern was appointed Safety Officer with Saskatchewan Power Corporation. In 1967 the family moved to Saskatoon. In 1980, Vern and Florence returned to Regina, where finished his career with Saskatchewan Power. From there a brief period in Calgary, then the move to Kelowna in 1983, where Vern and Florence spent their remaining years with their many good friends. Vern and Florence loved travel, visiting Hawaii and Mexico in the winter months Florence will be remembered for her great sense of humour and wit, her wisdom, her gracious strength, and generosity to numerous charitable organizations. The family extends their thanks to Allison and the staff at Interior Health Home Care, and her family doctor, Dr. McIntosh. Memorial to be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM, at Faith Lutheran Church, 250 Gibbs Road West. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the SPCA.
