O'KELL, JOANNE "Pal (formerly Peterson) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joanne "Pal" O'Kell of Penticton at the age of 80 years. Born Joanne Muxlow Herrod on March 23, 1933 in Weyburn, SK, Joanne died peacefully on August 6, 2013 in Penticton. She is surivived by her loving husband Brian, daughters Geri (Paul) of London, UK, Patti of Penticton, and Paula (Jim) of Shawnigan Lake, BC; son Doug (Marg) of St. Albert, AB and granddaughter Amelia of London, UK; brother Bruce (Lenke); sister Jeanne; stepchildren Marty, Adrienne, Andy and Desi. She will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as friends at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Penticton Bethesda Home and so many friends in St. Albert. She was predeceased by her first husband Garth in 1974, parents Gretta and Reuben; sister Shelda and brother Keith. Joanne prided herself as a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Christian in the role of Elder at her church. She touched everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank Reverend Colin Cross, Dr. John Kennedy, Moog and Friends Hospice, and the home care nurses for their wonderful care. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Penticton, B.C. at 2:00 p.m. Cremation. "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you.
