METCALF, FRANCIS JOHN (Frank) Frank Metcalf, 91, passed away peacefully on August 12th 2013, in Penticton, BC. Frank was born in Salmon Arm BC on May 26th,1922. Frank met his wife Catherine (Kay) in Comox, BC during WWII where he was serving in the Royal Canadian Navy. Frank and Kay moved to Penticton in 1948 where they raised their two children Fran and Norm. Frank also known to many as "Red" loved life, he had a big personality that drew many people to him. He was successful in many sports including baseball and bowling and also loved fishing and camping with his family in his much-loved beautiful BC outdoors. Frank was extremely proud of the "magnificent seven"... his treasured grandchildren ... Jeff, Kelly, Ryanne, Paul, Steve, Leah and Daniel. Frank is survived by his loving wife Kay, his children Fran and her husband Dan, Norm and his wife Patty, his seven grandchildren, his five great grandchildren, his beloved sisters-in-law Isabelle Vass and Julie McPhee, and many more other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Penticton Funeral Home, at 501 Winnipeg Street, Saturday, August 17th at 12 Noon.
