Gomes, Cesario Dias: (1952-2014) It is with deep sadness that the family of Cesario Gomes (Daddio) wishes to announce that he passed away on December 4, 2014, at the Kelowna General Hospital. After many years of being challenged by Multiple Sclerosis, he lost a brief fight to cancer. He was born in Barco, Portugal, November 4, 1952. His family moved to Northern BC in 1958 working in various small communities. He eventually settled himself in Prince George in early 1970. He had so many cherished memories of swimming at Eaglet Lake. After MS got the best of him, he truly missed going 4X4ing in the bush with his children, dancing, renovating houses and biking. He worked at the North Central Plywood in Prince George for many years. He was proud of his last position with Northwood/Canfor as Health and Safety Coordinator. He would laugh contagiously with tears as he shared stories about some of his adventures and other experiences. In Prince George he was quite involved with the Knights of Columbus, St Vincent de Paul Society, Saint John Ambulance, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Handy Circle Promotion Society, and Prince George Special Needs Advisory Committee. He believed in being involved in our communities and making a difference. In 2005, he moved to Westbank to retire but still got involved. He became well known for always being at "Timmies" and wheeling all over town. He will be dearly missed by his wife Jacinthe; mother Beatriz; brother Cesar; daughter Natalie (Tomasz); sons Nathan (Lauren), Peter (Keilee), and Mike (Tess); former wife Renee Gomes, mother of their children; grandchildren: Anna, Jan, Lucas, Jacob and Lincoln; and step-sons Joshua & Jeremy. He was predeceased by his father Jose. His presence, great sense of humour and laughter will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May you rest in Peace and dance in the presence of the LORD. There will be a viewing at 10 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 2547 Hebert Rd, West Kelowna, BC with a Mass at 11:00 am in his honour on December 12, 2014. After the service there will be a burial for family only and then for family and friends, a reception at the Holiday Inn 2569 Dobbin Rd, West Kelowna followed by a tribute to honour Cesario's life at Tim Horton's 2330 Highway 97, Westbank, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Kelowna Canadian Red Cross Health and Equipment Loan: Canadian Red Cross,124 Adams Road, Kelowna, BC V1X 7R2 or the Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumour Society Canada: 790 Commissioners Road East, London, Ontario N6A 4L6 www.lhsc.on.ca/About_Us/LRCP/. (A memorial gathering in Prince George, BC will be held in his memory in the New Year.)
