PHILLIPS, Sydney Conrad: Born in Albertown, SK, Sydney passed away in West Kelowna, BC. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lucy; his daughters, Val and Judy; sons-in-law, Vos and Jose; and by many family and friends. After graduating from the University of British Columbia, Sydney lived in Australia before returning to Canada to teach in Ontario, then B.C. In 1961 he began teaching on a Canadian Air Force Base in Europe, where he met Lucy. They married in 1963 and moved to Trail, BC, where he built their first house and where their two daughters, Valerie and Judy, were born. A few years later, he built their second home, in West Vancouver, where they lived until after Sid retired from teaching. For the last 18 years, he and Lucy lived in West Kelowna (in a house which he did NOT build). He remained passionate about his winemaking, carpentry, photography, music, gardening, reading, and feeding of the quails. He will be remembered for, among other things, his sense of humour and zest for life. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.Hansonsfuneral.ca
