ORTON, Claudia: December 1, 1928 - February 7, 2015. Claudia passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital on Saturday, February 7, 2015. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lester Douglas (Doug); her parents, Wasyl and Doris (Surkan) Zbitnew; her older brother, Joseph Zbitnew; and her younger brother, Onisime (Ozzie) Zbitnew. Claudia is survived by two sisters; Wallis Zbitnew, Regina, SK and Lu (Ed) MacMillan, Edmonton, AB; one brother; Larry (Carol) Zbitnew, Edmonton, AB; one sister-in-law, Josie Zbitnew, Qualicum Beach, BC and eleven nieces and nephews: Greg Zbitnew, Linda Sundevic, Murray (Tracey) Johnson, Philip (Lenore) Johnson, William Johnson, Craig (Cathie) Farkas, Bart (Evelyn) Farkas, Sherri Dardis, Shauna (Doug) Laird, Geoffrey Zbitnew, and Myrna Resch. She was raised in a Christian home. Claudia graduated as a registered psychiatric nurse in Saskatchewan in 1949. During her career she served in various health-related positions. Claudia's cremains will be laid to rest during a private interment with family and friends at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:00 pm, April 9, 2015. Members of the public are encouraged and welcome to pay their respects to Claudia during this ceremony. Flowers and donations are gratefully declined.
