MacArthur, James W. Aug. 11, 1920 - Aug. 21, 2013 We are sorry to announce that Jim MacArthur passed away peacefully on August 21, 2013 at the age of 93 in West Kelowna. Jim was born August 11, 1920 in Edmonton, Alberta. He moved to Vancouver and lived with his grandparents in the 1930s. He served in the Canadian Navy "cruising" the Atlantic in WWII. After the war he came back to Vancouver and married Cecily "Lee" MacArthur (Gowan). They were married for 50 years living in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond, and South Surrey until Lee predeceased him in 2000. He is survived by his two children: Jay (Lucy) MacArthur and Brenda Moretto as well as his four granddaughters: Janine (Simon), Deanna, Lauren and Nicole. He was also fortunate enough to find a special relationship with Irene Mortier over the last ten years in West Kelowna. He was an amazing Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Friend and Husband. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 1 pm on August 31, 2013 at First Memorial, 1211 Sutherland, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers or donations, please raise a glass of wine in his honour and perform an act of kindness.
