EMERSON, Marybelle Charlotte: Dec. 27, 1918 - Apr. 14, 2015. Born in Ft. Benton , Montana, Marybelle moved to Kelowna with her family in 1920. She spent her working career in the law offices of Campney Owen Murphy in Vancouver and retired to Kelowna to live with her sister Kathleen. They enjoyed many happy years together on Riverside Drive. Marybelle was predeceased by her husband Richard Emerson, daughter Susan Shepherd, and siblings Howard (Cookie) Ryan, Reena Pettman, Kathleen Longley and Eugene Ryan. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Tara (Chris) Melstrom and James (Anna) Shepherd, nieces and nephews Patrick (Laurie) Pettman, Terry Ann (John) Whittaker, Mary Ryan, Laura (Steve) Menzies, Kelly Williams, Michael Ryan, sister-in-law Ruth Ryan, 3 great grandchildren and many great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Hawthorne Place and the care aides from Interior Health who provided a warm supportive home for Marybelle in her last years, the staff of 4 East at KGH who gave such excellent care in her last few days and especially Jacqui Michon whose love, advocacy and support made life better for Marybelle.
