Morton, Sarah Isabelle: Aug 8, 1920 - May 21, 2015 Sarah Isabelle Morton's long life ended quietly on May 21, 2015 as her loving family gathered to remember her with stories and love. Isabelle was foremost a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Wilfred Frank Morton. Three children survive her: Betty Morton of Bowen Island, BC, Joan Mundy of Powell River, BC, and Bruce Morton of Belcarra, BC. Her seven grandchildren knew her well: Jay McKinnon of Sofia, Bulgaria, Sarah Mundy of Victoria, BC, Mika McKinnon, Jennifer Mundy, Jeanie Morton, Heather Morton, and Robert Morton of Vancouver, and two great-grandchildren, Katerina McKinnon and Fergus Beaty. As a young woman, Isabelle attended Business College and worked as a bookkeeper. Isabelle and Frank married in 1945 and moved to Kelowna to raise their family. Islabelle was active in the community taking leadership roles in the Parent Teacher Association and the Hospital Auxiliary as well as volunteering for various charitable associations, In later years, the couple moved to Victoria retiring soon after. Daily walks, a large garden and regular bridge games formed the backdrop for the Victoria years but it was friends and family that provided the zest. In addition to a imbuing the generations with a value system that embraces integrity, a good education and solid practical skills, Isabelle has left behind a trove of stories, treasured recipes and the gift of family. We thank the many friends who supported our family through the years. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the fall at a date still to be chosen.
