IN MEMORIAM. In loving memory of Jess Taylor, who passed away May 28, 2014. Though absent she is always near, still loved, still missed, still very dear. Jess (nee Murphy) was born in Glasgow, Scotland, where she married her husband of over 50 years, Robin. Together with their children, Cameron and Susan, they moved to Canada in 1977. Jess was a bold and daring lady and was never afraid to tackle something new. She tried her hand at a variety of jobs and worked at CIBC, as a unit clerk in the VGH emergency room, and at Penticton hospital. Very active as a volunteer, she was a docent at the Museum of Anthropology, president of the Soroptomist Club, and president of Brock House, UBC. She loved to work with her hands and undertook a variety of hobbies such as flower arranging, spinning and dyeing wool, miniature needlework, and decoupage. She took great delight in her grandchildren (Brendan, Sophie, Claire, Rachel, Hayden, Callum and Olivia) and even when her mind was drifting away in her final years, she was still able to find happiness when surrounded by family and friends. "Few hearts like hers, with virtue warm'd, few heads with knowledge so inform'd". Farewell Jess.
