PROUDFOOT, Dorothy Anna: Dorothy passed away on May 12, 2015 at the age of 86. She is survived by her twin sister Doreen Simpson of Chilliwack, BC; several nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia and New Zealand as well as many life-time friends across the country. Predeceased by her husband David Proudfoot in 2003 and by her sisters: Georgina Gay of Christ Church, New Zealand, and Joyce Gilfillian of Regina, SK. Dorothy had a most interesting nursing career that spanned many years, starting in Humboldt, SK and ending in long-term care in Kelowna, BC. She flew with the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance, served as a nurse in the Korean War in Japan, back to Calgary and lastly in Kelowna, working in Community Health for many years. She was also involved in the local initiative program, home nursing and long-term care assessor and administrator. Special thanks to Dr. Mike Banwell and the staff at Westwood Retirement Resort. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 8th at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
