SCULLY, GEORGETTE LEE: Passed away suddenly at home on May 22, 2015 at the age of 56. She is survived by her mother (Marg Scully); two daughters: Christy Helland (Duston May) and Sarah Helland; two sons: Mike Helland (Kelly Durward) and Mark Helland (Keely Pearson); her grandchildren Levi, Nova and Raine; and her siblings Kelly-Ann and husband Tim (Chantel); Denys and wife Sharon (Cara, Michelle and Brianna); and Margaret and her husband Bill (Ryan and Nicholas). Predeceased by her father Arthur Scully. Georgie was born on October 17, 1958 in Kamloops, B.C., the second child of Art and Marg's four children. She lived in many communities in B.C. growing up, including Chilliwack, Crescent Valley, Prince George and graduating high school in Quesnel. Following high school, she attended Western Pentecostal Bible School, and spent a year in Brazil as a missionary. Her marriage to Barry resulted in the four children, who she often described as her most important life accomplishment. She loved her children dearly, and as a single mother for most of her adult life, provided a home that was filled with laughter, fun and adventure that few parents are able to achieve. Georgie fought for all her children with the heart of a lion, and supported them in their life choices. The birth of her three grandchildren was a particular joy to her, and she embraced them in the same way she did motherhood. Although Georgie's life was filled with challenges, her faith and incomparable spirit and optimism allowed her to share her heart and wisdom with others, which she did with generosity and compassion. Friends, coworkers, union activists and her family respected and relied on her guidance, and lavished in the laughter and joy her sense of humour would bring to any gathering. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday June 2, 2015, 11:00 AM, Evangel Tabernacle (3261 Gordon Road), with Pastor Lester Mesenbrink officiating. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation for research.
