OLIVER, LYLE T: Born at Briercrest, Saskatchewan April 8, 1923, passed away June 10, 2015. In 1928 his parents moved to Gray Creek, B.C. a small community on the East shores of Kootenay Lake. In 1941 they moved to Calgary as the war had started and there was more employment. His older brother Floyd joined the army and Lyle joined the RCAF as an areo mechanic. He was stationed at Vulcan Ab., Pearce Ab., and Skipton on Swales, Yorkshire, England. He returned from overseas in 1944. He lived at Cultus Lake and Yale B.C. In November 1949 he moved to Penticton, as the Hope-Princeton had just opened. He got employment as a driver with Greyhound in 1950. In 1954 he married Margaret Estock. In 1959 they built a home on the West Bench. Margaret predeceased him in 2002. Lyle lived there until 2009, when he moved to the Hamlets in Penticton. He would like to congratulate the wonderful staff who treats everyone so well.
