Laurie led a life full of music and teaching spanning from Saskatchewan to South Africa and back to Canada. She spent her final days in Kelowna working for the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra. Above all, Laurie was a nurturer to her sons, to her husband Derek, to her friends and to all the people - young and old - she touched throughout her life. Laurie is one of the few people to have made a tangible difference to the lives of so many others. As director of the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra Co., her care and compassion for her students and staff extended far beyond their musical development; it was more about their growth as people. Laurie continues to inspire us and lead us by example. We love you Laurie. Let the wind carry you.
