HOLDEN, Jacqueline Ritchie Valentine (nee Hardiman): Born February 14, 1927 at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Passed away peacefully on June 26, 2015 at the Penticton Regional Hopsital, Penticton, B.C. Jackie attended Wellington and General Wolfe Schools, Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and apprenticed at Maxwells Originals at Wesley College. She was taught the miracle of make do and water aerobics in Winnipeg. She married George Austin Holden on November 23, 1945 and had 3 children, Wayne (Debby), Melody (Don) and Joy (John); 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. George and Jackie loved to dance and travel and they did both during their 69 years together. They were also active foster parents for many years and helped raise many foster children. They moved to Penticton in 1979 where George opened the present DVA office. They loved the Okanagan Valley so much they stayed. Jackie had a degree in sewing and sewed for Carnaby Street in Victoria. Among her many clients were John Wayne, Toller Cranston and Donovan. No matter how ill she was she never gave up and enjoyed life right to the end.
