Pollitt, (Duncan) Doris Coleen: Feb 16, 1923 - Jul 4, 2015 Doris Coleen Pollitt (Duncan) passed away in Penticton on July 4, 2015. Coleen was born in Vancouver BC in 1923 and lived throughout Canada before moving to Penticton in 1959. She was an active volunteer for the Royal Canadian Legion, the Junior Auxiliary to the Penticton Hospital, the IODE, the Penticton Peach Festival, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Penticton Senior's Drop-in Center, the Hospital Alumni Association, the United Way and the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. She gave her time as a Senior Peer Counsellor, a Care Closet and PRH volunteer and with the Respite Committee of Care Givers. She was honoured with the Senior Citizen of the Year Award in 2002 by the City of Penticton and the Penticton Rotary Club. Coleen was predeceased by husbands Richard Duncan, Jim Pollitt and Ed Frey. She was survived by her seven children, Dave (Shelagh) Duncan, Heather (Doug) Crow, Ken Duncan, Diane (Don) Bergman, Bob Duncan, Patty (Dan) Ashman, Brenda (Eric) Inglis her 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and great-great granddaughter. Coleen will be laid to rest alongside her parents at the Masonic Cemetery in Burnaby BC.
