McFADDEN, Raymond Earl: Soft music was playing as dad floated away at KGH on August 19, 2015. Dad was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Dad was born in Regina in 1926. He worked as a biologist at Great Slave Lake in the summers to earn enough money to pay for his Masters in Education at UBC. His first job was in Creston, B.C. and it was there that he met our mother Marjorie Jackson, who was also teaching at the time. Their love of each other and similar interests such as tennis, swimming, and fishing brought them together. Their love stayed strong for 65 years. Together they created a beautiful family. Sons Frank (Lindsay), David (Andrea) Bruce ((Letitia) daughter Kathleen (Eric). Dad and Mom have seven grandchildren. Stuart (Jennifer), Cameron, Shaun (Meghan) David, Rory, Keely (Fabien), Liam. Four great-grandchildren. Twins Cohen and Hudson and their sisters Brielle and Everleigh. Dad was a principal and teacher at Rutland Senior Secondary from 1959 to his retirement in June 1983. Many of his colleagues remain his friend to this day. Dad will be missed by his poker buddies both here and in Yuma and by his many friends at his beloved summer home at Kootenay Lake. His sons and grandsons have wonderful memories of their annual hunting trip at Eagan Lake in the Cariboo. Our family would like to extend our thanks to the nurses and doctors at 2East. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you give to the SPCA, the NCC Darkwood-Nature Conservancy of Canada www.natureconservancy.ca or the charity of your choice. We will celebrate Dad's life with friends and family. Date, time and venue to be announced. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.
