SPENCER, Victor Vance: 1924 - 2015. "Take me out coach, I've had enough". Vic never backed away from a challenge, having a personal motto of "fight back" but lost his last battle on Aug 20th after a short illness. One of seven children born to the pioneering family of Col. Victor & Mrs. Spencer of Vancouver. Victor V was, among other things, a WW II Naval Officer, cattle rancher, avid duck hunter and outdoorsman, retailer (David Spencer Ltd.), football player (Hamilton Tigers), and was most proud of being one of the founders of the BC Lions football club. He lived a full and varied life between homes in West Vancouver and Kelowna. He loved sports, particularly "his Lions", his family, his many hunting dogs and "Your Move". Vic was also an enthusiastic writer and enjoyed creating many poetic verses for those special people in his life. Vic was considered to be decent, thoughtful and generous and was a member of, and supported, many organizations and clubs. Dad, "Gramps", was predeceased by the love of his life, Peggy and other family members. He will be sadly missed and remembered by: his sister Diana Dyer; sister-in-law Isabelle Loveless; his children Janice Spencer, Andrea (Spencer) Hunter, Victor Spencer III (Andrea); grandchildren Victor IV, David, Michael and Paloma; great granddaughter Phoenix; many nieces & nephews; and the many people whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held at Capilano Golf & Country Club in West Vancouver at 1:00 pm on Oct 4.Condolences through Springfield Funeral Home at www.springfieldfuneralhome.com
