HARTMUT (HARDY) EBERHARD REIDER Passed suddenly on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Survived by loving wife Beate (Birkner) of 41 years, daughter Andrea and Justin and precious granddaughter Ava, son Matthew and Joy. Predeceased by his father, Manfred, survived by his mother Margret, brothers Pete (Shelly), Harry and sister Patricia (Wayne), step-mother Beryl, step-siblings Gary, Karen (Jim). Also survived by the seven Birkner siblings and their spouses, family Schulze in Germany and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Hardy and Beate moved from Ontario to Kelowna, B.C. in 1997 with their children, leaving behind many family and friends but always remaining in close contact. Hardy was active in the New Apostolic Church where he served as a minister. Hardy enjoyed a long career at CBRE as senior project manager. His wisdom, thoughtful nature, strong work ethic, and constant striving for knowledge are just a few of his great qualities. He also had a great sense of humour - always surprising, and quick-witted, he brought laughter to all those around him. He loved the outdoors, fishing, cooking, music, playing guitar and singing. Hardy will be deeply missed by family, friends and colleagues. Memorial service on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at The New Apostolic Church, 155 Nickel St., Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
