ANDRUCHIW, Charlie We are sad but relieved to announce the passing of Charlie Andruchiw at Kelowna General Hospital on December 19, 2013 after a short but painful battle with cancer. Charlie was born at his grandparents home in Ksituan, Alberta on September 29, 1942 and spent the first 37 years of his life in and around Spirit River, Alberta working at many professions from farming to managing Peace Valley Seeds before moving to Kelowna in 1979 where he was employed by Sears for 34 years before installing his last dishwasher in May of this year. Everywhere he lived, everywhere he worked, he made many friends and was blessed with a remarkable memory that carried tales of everyone to pass on to others. Sadly there will be many stories now lost. Charlie loved to visit with friends and family, fish, camp, work in his home and yard and create in his workshop. He was a great dancer. He could delegate to anyone and always able to get help on any project without objection. He loved to mentor the young. Charlie leaves to mourn him his wife Dorrie, mother-in-law Mary Hendren, daughters Shauna (Ken) Wlad, Paula (Rob) Tessier, Leea Andruchiw, almost daughters Dallas Hancock (Mike) and Krystal (Scott) Lidvall. His absence is felt by grandchildren Carson, Logan, Lance, Kiara, Shayden, Allie, Cody, Jennelle, Sydney and great granddaughter Karlie; sisters Marie (Gerard) Boytinck, Sherry Zaichkowsky (Dennis) and his very special Aunty Kay; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends. Greeting Charlie were his mom and dad, Harry and Verna Andruchiw, Uncle Bill and grandson Alexander as well as many others. Thank you to all the medical staff that assisted him in many different ways, you were all wonderful and caring. In remembrance of Charlie, take a friend to the pub for a burger or donate to the Children's Hospital if you like.
