SNELL, Verna Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away January 6, 2014. Predeceased by her husband Ted in 2002. She is survived by her children Russel (Wendy) and Karen; 3 grandchildren Jennifer (Dennis), Christy (Dwayne) and Scott; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Elinor (Earl); and many nieces and nephews. Verna was born in Kamloops, but grew up at Tranquille TB Sanitorium as her dad was Chief Cook there. She graduated from Nursing and worked at Hospitals in Vancouver, Alberta, and Kamloops. She was a Program Director for the City of Kelowna, and worked eight years for BC Housing. She loved to travel down the west coast of the USA and across Canada, as well as forty trips with Wells Grey Tours. Verna was very kind, always happy, loved her work and her family very much. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Clark, Dr. McCawley and Dr. Puttick. A Celebration of Verna's life will be held from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave. on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kelowna SPCA (3785 Casorso Rd, Kelowna, V1W 4M7) would be appreciated. HER FREE SPIRIT, LOVE OF LIFE, AND BEAUTIFUL SMILE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL.
