CATTANI, RITA: Oct. 6, 1929 - Jan. 19, 2014 "If there is any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow human being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn Always looking through young eyes, Mrs. Rita Cattani (nee Westwood), Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma passed away in The Hospice House in Kelowna, BC on Sunday, January 19. An only child, Rita was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 6th, 1929 to Bill and Rita Westwood. Rita lived a full and involved life. She has been a member of the Catholic Women's League for 72 years and was a Legion member for 42 years. Prior to her 50 year marriage, Rita served five years as a Pilot Officer and Flying Officer in the RCAF during the Korean War. She married Harold in 1956, and together they lived a full and happy life. Mom and dad had many great years in retirement in Penticton with many cherished memories, friends and neighbours. They will forever rest side by side again, shaded under the beautiful walnut tree overlooking Okanagan Lake. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1296 Main Street, Penticton, on Friday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive visitors who wish to pay their respects on Thursday, January 23 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Everden Rust Funeral Chapel, 1130 Carmi Avenue.
