MORRIS, David George May 2, 1942 - February 2, 2014 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Morris at The Hospice House in Kelowna on Sunday, February 2, 2014, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Edmonton on May 2, 1942. Dave is survived by Susan, his wife of 50 years; and 2 sons Brent (Vancouver), Bradley and wife Jacqueline (Miami). He is also survived by sister Shirley (Brian), 2 nieces Carolyn, Patricia and nephew David (Victoria). He is predeceased by his father George and mother Janet. Through David's career he has served as Administrator in Coldstream, City Manager in Kitimat and was appointed Executive Director of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, for British Columbia, a position he held until his retirement in 1997. David established a local government management consulting practice and working in conjunction with Urban Systems in Kelowna, to continue his support for local government in British Columbia. David is a past Provincial President and Life Member of the Local Government Management Association, and a long-time member of the Government Finance Officers Association of BC (GFOA) and CAMA. David enjoyed golf and was an avid world traveller. He will be loved and cherished and never forgotten by his family, dear friends and colleagues. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6th at the Everden Rust Funeral Home, 1910 Windsor Rd., Kelowna, BC, 250-860-6440.
