BLENKARN, MAY We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, May Blenkarn (nee Tudge) born in Tugaske, Saskatchewan on June 2, 1920. May was predeceased by her loving husband, Cecil in 2003; sisters, Hilda Wells, Anne Skavlebo, Gladys O'Donnell; brother Don Tudge; sons in law, Bob Halabourda and Richard VanLaak. She is survived by daughters, Sylvia Halabourda, Hazel VanLaak, Carol (John) Schofield, Shirley (Lorne) Scott and her son, Gerald (Connie) Blenkarn; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Bob (Anita Halabourda... Chanice, Dana), Carrie Halabourda (Nick, Natalie Skelin), Cathy Rice, Arlene (Rick Hildred... Heather, Jeremy), Geninne (Dale Fitzgerald... Jacob, Carrie), Kevin (Monica Shaver... Victoria Robert, Tynon), Lynn (Chris van der Vlist... Alex, Chelsea), Mary May (Wiebe deJong... Cassie, Michael, Brianna), Tracy (Devin Nienow... Theresa, Jonathon), Graeme (Linda Blenkarn... Hailey, Braidyn), Gregory (Larissa Blenkarn), Philip (Natasha Scott... Tyson, Carter), Dianna (Brian Umpherville... Lorne Scott-Ramsey, Matthew Scott). May worked for many years at Simpson Sears in Catalogue Returns, working her way from a clerk to a supervisor. After retirement May and Cecil moved from the lower mainland to Quesnel. There she enjoyed running the concession stand for all the Horseshoe Tournaments. In 1991, they moved to Kelowna where they resided for the rest of their lives. She also enjoyed bowling, travelling, knitting, gardening, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. Her main love was entertaining, looking after and playing games with her family. A tea to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm at 32-1874 Parkview Crescent. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.everdenrust.com 250-860-6440
