Bob was born on December 7, 1917 in Kilburn, London, England to Walter and Mary Crockford. Bob was predeceased by his wife Irene of 70 years in 2010; his parents and two brothers. He is survived by several nieces and nephews in England plus numerous close friends in Canada. As a young lad in England, Bob had many occupations. One was working in an upscale department store, Lyons, where he met Irene and they were married April 28, 1940, just after Bob enlisted to serve in World War II. It was here that he met a fellow who talked him into going west. In 1953 Bob & Irene immigrated to Canada where after several years and different occupations Bob started with Woodward's stores and continued with them until retirement in 1983. Bob and Irene transferred to the Penticton Woodward's in 1978 where they lived in Naramata for five years. After retirement they downsized and moved to Meadow Gardens where they formed many lasting friendships. Bob enjoyed his weekly golf games, bowling in Osoyoos and Monday night card games. Bob and Irene travelled extensively after retirement and loved to spend the winters in warmer climates. Bob was a member of the Oliver Royal Canadian Legion and he appreciated the visits of the Legionaires when he was residing at Sunnybank. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M.
