HAK, Matthew Ronald April 18, 1986 - March 16, 2014 Passed away suddenly on March 16, 2014 in Kelowna, BC. Cherishing his positive impact on our lives are his mom, Dianna Hak & Garry Ross; dad, Albert Hak; brother, Brendon Hak and his fiancee Kira; grandpa, Ron Schalla, oma, Mies & opa, Bart Hak, aunts & uncles Carol & Myron, Sandi & Troy, Frances & John, Dixie & Peter, Lidia, Gail & Martin, Lisa & Andrew and numerous cousins and dear friends who are considered family. A childhood in Steinbach, MB was followed by an adolescence and graduation in Kenora, ON. The West then beckoned the brothers. Matthew moved to Nelson, BC; Brendon moved to Kelowna, BC. Matthew again pulled up roots and moved to Kelowna, BC in 2006. He had numerous years of career exploration; he seemed to have found his niche recently with restoration work. Matthew was predeceased by grandma Rita, uncle William and cousin, Aaron. Matthew, thank you for your energetic (can you say hyper?) approach to walks in the woods as a child, doting on canines Misha, D.O.G. and Kilo, taking on hockey, baseball and snowboarding as a youth and young adult and most recently bodybuilding. You may have been a late-bloomer, but we are proud of how you have recently turned your life around. A celebration of Matthew's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna, BC. Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, (250) 860-6440. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting everdenrust.com
