CORMACK, MARY ELIZABETH (Reinhart) June 18, 1925 - March 18, 2014 We announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Cormack, in Penticton, on March 18, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Mary was born in Kitchener, Ontario in 1925, seventh in a family of eight children. She graduated from St. Mary's High School at age sixteen and was awarded a medal as the top student. She competed successfully in oral speaking contests, was on the senior basketball team, and was a member of the choir. Mary loved reading, poetry, and prose. Her faith and her family were a large part of her life. After the war, in 1946, she and her sister, Margaret, left home to seek adventure in Vancouver. Mary found an office job at BC Electric. She hadn't been working for long before she was introduced to Charlie Cormack and in April, 1947 they were married. Mary and Charlie moved to Prince George in 1952 where Charlie built his chiropractic practice and Mary made a home for their five children. Summers and weekends were spent at their cabin at Cluculz Lake. They retired to Penticton in 1991 where they enjoyed a happy and productive retirement. Mary was happiest when she was in the company of her large network of family and friends. Throughout her life she showed remarkable curiosity and interest in other people. She was a gracious and skilled conversationalist, and brought out the best in those around her. Mary was predeceased in 2009 by her husband of 62 years, Charlie; sister Dorothy Reinhart, brothers Jim, Edgar, and Wilbur. She is survived by her sisters, Venette Padden, Margaret Sabiston, brother, Father Boniface Reinhart, children, Kathy Brown (Peter), Jane Snider (Bryan), Rob Cormack, Ann Diehl (Randy), Carol Rice (Brian); grandchildren, Jeff, Jenny, Jill, Marianne, Tanya, Kevin, Mark, Paul, Mila, Sarah, Katie, Andrew, Derek, Kristen; great grandchildren, Justine, Evan, Isaac, Sawyer, Noah, Charlie, Hannah, Leo, Benny, Kaiden, Leo, Mila, Ethan and Carter.
