ATKINSON, LAURA SYBIL Sept. 30, 1916 - March 5, 2014 With sadness we announce the passing of Laura at the age of 97. Laura was born in Calcutta, India and relocated to Penticton with her sister and father when she was about 7 years old. She joined the "Canadian Women's Army Corps" in Ottawa and stayed there for the duration of the war. Laura is survived by her niece Babe (Ernie) Best, 2 great nephews, 1 great niece, 1 great-great niece, 3 great great nephews and 1 great great great nephew. A special thanks and appreciation to the "Village By The Station" for the great care in her stay there. There is always a sunny and happy atmosphere. No service upon request. Just a family service at the Veteran's gravesite, Penticton.
