BOECHLER, GILES JAMES AUGUST 24, 1955 - MARCH 25, 2014 It is with sadness that the family of Giles Boechler announces the passing of their son, brother, uncle, brother in law and husband in Kelowna, BC, on March 25th, 2014 at the age of 58. Giles is remembered by his loving wife Gwen, his mother Pat Boechler, brothers Gary (Elaine), Allan (Donna), sister in law, Wendy (Jack) Andrews, mother and father in law, Flora & Merle Shockey, brother in law Warren (Lenore), sister in law Karen (Steve) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Kasper, brother Guy, nephew Kaz Andrews and sister in law Janice Boechler. Giles was born in Saskatoon, Sask. and was raised on a farm near Allan, Sask. He took his schooling there, then went to Kelsey Institute to study mechanics. He worked as a mechanic in Saskatoon, finishing out his years there as head mechanic for Hertz Bus Lines. It was in 1989 that he and Gwen moved to Kelowna and in 1990 he became owner operator of Purolator delivery services. Giles was always a hard, loyal worker and over his 23 years with Purolator his outgoing personality gave him an instant connection to his customers and coworkers. Giles had many loves in his life. His cars (particularly his passion for his Corvette), curling, skiing, Saskatchewan Roughriders, his family, but most of all his, beloved wife Gwen of 37 years. The family would like to thank the staff of Kelowna General Hospital for their kindness, compassion and dedication. Funeral Mass will be held from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 839 Sutherland Ave on Saturday, March 29th, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
