ALLEN, Michael Charles March 29, 1931 - July 19, 2013 Born in Magog, Quebec March 29, 1931 to Arthur and Winnifred Allen. Mike was predeceased by his father, mother, and stepson Todd Knittle. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Carrol, son Michael, daughter Kimberly (Randal) Shindruk, Tori and Brock, his stepson Darren (Donna) Knittle and Gavin, sisters Vivienne (Dr. Deen), Vancouver, Sister Maureen Brown, Burlington, Ont., brother David (Eileen), New Zealand, plus many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Mike will be remembered for his broad smile and friendly manner. He demonstrated courage and maintained his positive attitude while living with cancer. We wish to thank Dr. D. Whiting for his compassionate care and Dr. D. Petric and staff at the Cancer Center. A special thank you to the Palliative Care and Hospice staff for their compassion and assistance. We are also grateful for the love and support shown by our families and friends throughout this journey. A memorial service will be held August 3, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Kelowna Salvation Army Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army Church in memory of Mike.
