THWAITES, Elise "Elsie" Marie Melina October 14, 1931 - March 29, 2014 Elsie was welcomed into heaven the morning of March 29th, 2014, at age 82. She was able to see her family and was able to hold her 4 month old great grandchild before peacefully passing. Elsie was born October 14, 1931 and raised in Beaumont, Alberta. On June 18th, 1955, Elsie married Robert in Edmonton, AB, shortly after they moved to Saskatoon, SK, where they raised their family, retiring in Westbank, BC in 1991. Bob and Elsie shared 60 devoted years with each other. Elsie is survived by Robert Thwaites and two children Garry (Kim) and Diane (Brady) and her five grandchildren Valene, Crystal, Brianne, Lindsay and Robert and her 2 great grandchildren Chase and Maverick. Bob and Elsie were inseparable, she was fulfilled with Bob by her side. They loved to travel the world as well as go camping and fishing. They were involved in multiple camping and bridge groups where they shared many smiles and laughs with their large group of friends. Elsie was most happy when surrounded by her family. The love Elsie had for her family was unconditional to say the least. She will be greatly missed, however, never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 2, 2014, 1:30pm, Senior Centre, 3661 Old OK HWY, Westbank, BC.
