BERNICE GLORIA COOPER OCTOBER 13, 1930 - MARCH 30, 2014 Bernice Cooper (nee Pollack) passed away peacefully on March 30, 2014, at the age of 83, at the Central Okanagan Hospice House, in Kelowna, British Columbia, from Brain Cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was the only daughter of Dr. Jacob Pollack and Anna Belle Pollack (Genesove). Our beloved mother was effervescent and brave, a talented interior designer, generous and kind with a zest for life and a passion for people and tennis. Bernice gave her four children the gift of a lifetime, settling them first in Geneva, Switzerland, and then London, England, showing them the wider world, with extraordinary adventures along the way. Bernice is survived by her children, Bill (Monica), Peter (Ellyn), Jane (Marc), and Amy (Wim); and nine grandchildren, Greer, Mackenzie, Theodora, Michael, Ethan, Lucas, Katherine, Andrew, and Teo. Bernice loved her family deeply and delighted in all we did. Shortly before she left us, she composed this poem: "I'm at the top of the rainbow I have a pot of gold A big, beautiful family A joy to behold." A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
