SHMYR, HELEN: (nee Martyniuk): was born on September 14th, 1924 in Poland and passed away on Mother`s Day, May 11th, 2014 in Penticton, B.C. at the age of 89 years. Helen married Mike Shmyr on September 12th, 1942 and together they had three children, Walter (Lori), David (Patti) and Betty (Martin) Neill; five grand- children; and six great-grandchildren. Helen also leaves to cherish her memory her three sisters, Nellie, Mary and Annie; three brothers, Bill, Mike and Peter; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike; one granddaughter, Shauna; one sister, Kay; and one brother, John. In respecting Helen`s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held at the Coldstream Cemetery on Friday, May 16th, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Mrs. Grace Wulff officiating.
