STOCKS, DAPHNE INEZ: Oct. 13, 1926 - May 12, 2014 Born in Penticton, Daphne passed away peacefully in her own home at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her father, Lumb Stocks (Pioneer Penticton Photographer), mother Marion, brothers Peter and Jack, sister Babe Bennest. She is survived by her brother David, nephews Bill, Brian (Anita) and family, Jack, Jim (Bernie) and family and Doug Bennest and family, niece Jane Stocks, great-nephews, Justin, Trevor and Andrew Stocks, great niece Jodie Goulet (Mike) and family, god-daughter Wendy Gilmour (Bruce) and life-long friend Pam Roome (Wendy's mother), Alix MacDonald (daughter of her late life-long friend, Marian MacDonald) and many cousins. She was even a great-great aunt! Daphne enjoyed a career in stenography in several fields in Vancouver and Penticton. In retirement she was active in volunteerism and was a member of the Okanagan Basketry Guild and a keen supporter of The Penticton Art Gallery and its activities. Like many of her family and close friends, she was an avid walker, swimmer and gardener. She especially enjoyed nature and activities of the Naturalist Club. Special thanks to the staff at Interior Health and neighbours Diane and Gordon Kupczyk and Bonnie (Don) Hilgartner and Alix MacDonald for their loving care in her final days. At Daphne's request there will be no burial service. Daphne's ashes will be interred in the family plot, Lakeview Cemetery at a later date and family and close friends may pay their respects during the summer.
