MALKO, Frederick Frederick Richard (Ted) Malko, 73, of West Kelowna, British Columbia, passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born in Norquay, SK to Peter and Michalene Malko, he lived most of his life in Kelowna. He was predeceased by his loving wife Rosemarie (Swelka) Malko. Dad was an honest, giving and decent man. Any task that he was given or job he undertook he excelled at and conquered. He managed Trail Park Mobile Villas in West Kelowna for over 20 years. His caring and fair nature was greatly missed when he retired. In his spare time he enjoyed his volunteer work with the West Kelowna Community Policing Society, reading, watching TV and especially sports - curling and hockey, in particular, which he played. Old western movies was another favourite of Dad's. Dad was extremely loving and proud of his son Scott Malko and his wife Shirley and granddaughter Melissa of Thunder Bay, his three daughters, Triscia Porter and her husband Barry and grandson Chad of West Kelowna, Linda Smith and her husband Reynold of Vancouver, and Sandra Malko and granddaughter Nicole and her partner Brogan of West Kelowna. He is survived also by his loving sister Minota Dundas of Edmonton and brother David Malko of Edmonton; as well as his mother-in-law Sandra Swelka of Edmonton, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Please raise your glass and drink a toast to the memory of a good son, brother, husband, father and grandfather no longer with us and there will never be another like Ted. There will be no service by request but memorial donations may be made in Ted's name to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2.
