WILLIAM HENRY ("BUD") WISE Dec 23, 1933 - Sept 12, 2014 We rejoice in the passing of "Bud" to be with his Lord Jesus Christ and we will deeply miss this wonderful man. Bud peacefully left this world on Sept 12, 2014, with family by his side, after a short battle with Asbestosis. Bud is predeceased by his mother Fran, step-father Floyd, Father Edward and brother George. Bud leaves to mourn daughter Cherie Southwell, son Darren Wise, son Dean Crawford (Suzanne), grandchildren Tanya (Imran) Ali, Allison (Jason) Rutter, Jessica, Justin and Abigail Crawford, great grandchildren Madi, Mason, Aria and Ashur, cousins, nephews, nieces and many many friends. Bud was born in Winnipeg, MB, moving with his family to Vancouver as a young boy. He attended Livingstone Elementary and King Edward Secondary in Vancouver, where he met many friends that he kept for his entire life. Bud joined the family business and began his career as a floor layer at age 15 and worked until Feb 2014. He loved being active through bowling, swimming, biking, walking and dancing. He was perhaps happiest fishing in his boat and spent many happy hours on Okanagan and Kootenay lakes, amongst others. He enjoyed singing and his family will remember his lovely voice and guitar. During the 60's, he was an active member of the Burnaby Kinsmen Association, serving as President in 1965. Bud moved to Edmonton in 1969, lived in Creston, BC, from 1977 to 1987 and then lived the remainder of his life in Penticton, BC. While in Creston, he became a Christian, which profoundly influenced his life and enjoyment of it. After moving to Penticton, Bud joined the Penticton Vineyard Church as one of its first members. He was a devoted member of the congregation for 27 years and focused on helping many others by starting up and leading recovery groups. Bud loved his family and friends and life, but most of all God. Services will be held to Celebrate Bud's Life on Friday Sept 19, 2014 at 1 pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28 Ave, Surrey, BC, with a viewing from 11 am to noon.
