AUSTIN, Nellie: 1931-2014 Died on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Kelowna Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald, in 1997. She is survived by her daughter Pam Webb; step-sons: Dennis Austin, Doug Austin (Joy); five grandchildren: Brendan, Nolan, Megan, Dennis and Melissa; eight great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Wilton-Davis (Loyd), Mary Ann Platz; two brothers: Tony Van Leest (Margaret), Walter Van Leest (Linda) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Nellie's professional career in Toronto included AVRO AIRCRAFT (1951-1959) and as a departmental supervisor at the AB Dick Company of Canada (1959-1981). Nellie and Gerry retired to Winfield, BC in 1981. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 3:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 696 Glenmore Road, Kelowna, BC, with Bishop Patrick D'Vas officiating. Interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, September 22nd at 9:30 am.
