SCHLEPPE, Andrew Felix 1915 - 2014 Andrew Felix Schleppe passed away on September 29, 2014 at Westbank, BC at the age of 99 years. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Anna Marie (Mary); children, Linda Alcock (Lorne), Rod Schleppe (Anne), Ernest Schleppe (Cathy), Steve Schleppe (Cindy), Janet Hodge (Don), and Anne Jensen; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are many members of their extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Catherine Schleppe; his brothers and sisters; and his infant daughter Marie. Andrew was born in Allan, Saskatchewan. The family moved to the Okanagan Valley, and Andy attended school in Vernon, Winfield and Glenmore. As a young man, Andy farmed at Glenmore and Kelowna. Andy and Mary were married in Kelowna, and moved to Trail, BC shortly thereafter. They raised their family in Trail, and Andy worked at the Cominco smelter for many years. Andy and Mary retired to Peachland, BC in 1980, where they developed a beautiful home and garden. They moved to a retirement condo in Westbank in 2005. He spent the last few months of his life at Village of Smith Creek, also in Westbank. Many thanks to the staff at Smith Creek for the excellent care given to Andrew during his stay there. Many thanks also to Dr. Andre Spiess for his care and concern. Family and friends were always a very important part of Andy and Mary's life. Andrew maintained a strong faith throughout his life, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He liked camping and boating, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his gardens in Trail and Peachland, and was proud of the wine made from his homegrown grapes. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2547 Hebert Road, Westbank, BC with Reverend Wayne Pfliger officiating. Interment to follow at a later date at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2850 Dry Valley Road, Kelowna, BC.
